Florida resident Cherruy Loghan Sevilla, 24, pleaded guilty this week to interfering with a flight crew and assaulting a flight attendant while making a scene onboard a United Airlines flight from Miami to Washington, DC.

The strange episode played out on Oct. 4, 2022.

About an hour into the flight, Sevilla - who is a "restaurant specialist," according to his LinkedIn account - began to start showing disruptive and erratic behavior, wandering around the plane, up and down the aisle, clapping loudly near the cockpit, and shouting obscenities, according to prosecutors.

When flight attendants approached Sevilla, he laid down on the floor in the aisle of the plane, preventing a flight attendant from walking up the aisle to her jump seat in advance of landing, they added. He also unexpectedly sprung up and lunged at her, groping her breast.

According to reports, Sevilla may have been high on a psychedelic drug at the time his antics began, which he took before his trek to DC.

After assaulting the flight attendant, a passenger, another flight attendant, and an onboard air marshall attempted to pull Sevilla off and subdue him. However, he resisted, and in the struggle injured another person before he was taken into custody.

When he is sentenced on Friday, April 21, Sevilla will face up to 20 years in prison.
